electric.jpgChris picked up the guitar at age 11. He started teaching at age 16. At 18, he began playing small tours and opening for national acts. Many of his former students have received accolades from the Berkley School of Music and are now teaching in local music stores. Chris emphasizes technique, theory, composition, improvisation, ear training, and creativity. His influences include Randy Rhodes, Eddie Van Halen, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Dave Mustaine, Frank Gambale, Al Di Meola, John Petrucci and Eric Johnson to name a few. Though his favorite styles are metal, jazz, rock, and blues, he is well versed in all. He also teaches country, funk, R & B, flomenco and fusion. Chris has a degree in computer science and has been teaching and performing since 1989. He's been teaching at Mozingo Music since 2006.
