drumming.jpgBrian has been an in demand and accomplished professional drummer for over fifteen years. He started playing in 1985, at age 10. Throughout junior high and high school, he participated in concert, jazz and marching band. After receiving the “Semper Fi Award" in his senior year at Triad High School, in St. Jacob, Illinois, he majored in Jazz Performance at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, Illinois. While at S.I.U.E., Brian studied with Roger Guth, Tom Kennedy, Steve Strayhorn and Larry Vandiver, and participated in various jazz combos, concert and big bands.

A veteran of the St. Louis music scene, Brian has played professionally since 1993, in a variety of musical settings. During his tenure with the Blues group, Zito, he toured the United States, and participated in a Department of Defense Tour of Japan, Korea, Okinawa and the South Pacific. As a member of St. Louis’ own Nadine, Riverfront Times Best Rock Band of 2003, Brian was instrumental in the band’s rise to national recognition.  Brian’s current project, the acclaimed original band The Breakers, released its first cd in 2005 and their much anticipated second cd in 2007, to nationwide recognition.

Brian has performed, recorded or toured with artists such as R.E.M.’s Peter Buck, Kent Henry, Rami Jaffe of the Wallflowers, and Pete Yorn. With over nine years professional teaching experience, Brian caters to the individual needs of each student. He is fluent in styles such as Blues, Country, Gospel, Funk, Jazz, Pop, R & B, Rock, Soul, Orchestral and Rudimental. From beginner to expert drummer, with his commitment to excellence and his personal dedication to each student’s lesson program, Brian will undoubtedly provide an enthusiastic, nurturing and positive academic environment for each student to reach their maximum musical potential and personal goals.
