Low Brass: Tenor and Bass Trombone, Tuba, Euphonium

Matt received his Doctor of Musical Arts in 2007 from UCLA.  He has also received a Bachelor and Master of Music in trombone performance from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 2002 and 2004, respectively.  While living in Los Angeles, Matt gave private lessons, performed with the Budman/Levy Contemporary Jazz Orchestra, and filled-in as substitute Principal Trombone for the San Diego Symphony Pops.

Matt frequently appears as the faculty bass trombonist for the Jim Widner Big Band Camps and can be heard on the band's 2007 release entitled "Out of This World". Other performances have found Matt with many talented performers such as Kim Richmond, Paul McKee, Clay Jenkins, Bill Perkins, Rick Haydon, Reggie Thomas, Randy Brecker, and Louis Bellson.  Matt has been playing for 18 years and teaching privately since 2002.
