Guitar

John started playing the guitar at an early age, as he would say, "after the guitar bug bit him." In his high school years he was jamming with friends, trying to form rock bands, writing songs, and eventually playing in a wedding reception band. He studied music at Florissant Valley Community College and started teaching lessons and performing out on nights and weekends. He has extensive playing and performing experience in a variety of styles. He has played in numerouse rock/pop bands and traveled throughout the midwest, living on the road for 3 years. Two of his former bands have won contests for KSHE and KWK radio stations.

John is currently the worship leader at the church he attends, and owns and operates Joyful Sounds Christian DJ Service. He teaches on a full time basis, and offers customized lessons for each student, teaching by incorporating songs and styles that the students like and know, in addition to working out of books. His major styles are Christian, rock, blues, top 40 pop, classical and jazz.
